http://www.myspace.com/gunsnroses
this is where you can hear the new guns n' roses album
i guess that axelrod/(axel rose) guy is the only original member, left, now
and he's spent 17 years, and 13 million dollars, making this album
which appears to be five songs
it was supposed to be released in 2001
and then 2006
and a bunch of other times
but, i guess, he was a control-freak perfectionist
with total control
and they could never get him to just FINISH the goddamned thing, till today
and so they are streaming it on the guns n' roses myspace page
for a while, at least
i don't know if it's worth 17 years and 13 million dollars
but i'm listening to the first song, right now
and it sounds pretty good, so far _________________

as for fingal's cave:
it sounds kinda UNfinished, in a way
ya know?
like maybe they shoulda polished it and refined it some more
like maybe that was just a preliminary version
and it was SUPPOSED to be for one quick scene in the movie
and the scene it was for ended up on the cutting room floor
or something
so, it never got put on any floyd album
I found that thing DECADES ago on an underground pirate album called OMAYAD
one day, when i lived in san rafael, ca
i discovered this music store where they had ALL these incredible pirate albums
of any band you could THINK of!
mostly they were bootleg concert recordings that someone taped
but pink floyd seemed to have bootlegs that included STUDIO tracks!
UNHEARD UNRELEASED studio tracks!
i finally realized
(or developed a theory)
that pink floyd must be IN ON IT
because no studio employee could be STEALING all this stuff
and continually getting away with it
without eventually being sussed out, and fired
i figure they musta decided that they could make some personal gravy money by sending out clips of shit that wasn't gonna get put on any official album, anyway
and they wouldn't have to pay any recording company any cut
they had versions of sogs that later DID become released songs
on ANIMALS and WISH YOU WERE HERE
etc
etc
but had the words changed
and they had different titles than what they ended up being called
lyrics changed
and verses re-arranged in different order
and different harmonies
different arrangements of songs that later DID get released
AND totally UNHEARD songs!
that NEVER DID get released!
i remember another real good one was called THE CRUMBLING LAND
(lemme try and find that one, on youtube)
anyway...
this store had shelves and shelves of these bootleg albums
(i think the goddam store was even CALLED "bootlegs")
and
GET THIS:
if you couldn't find something on the shelves
THEY HAD A HUGE CATALOGUE
and you could order zillions of things
from any band you could THINK OF!!!
and, like a FOOL IDIOT
I assumed it would last forever
so i would (at my leisure) go in there, once in a while, and buy the odd pink floyd and genesis or beatles bootleg
and one day
IT WAS GONE!
closed down
so, of course--eventually
i lost the albums
or they got stolen
over the decades
(or i gave them away
like a SAP
to some idiot girl i was in love with
or some such silly shit)
i checked youtube for a coupla years
periodically
to try and find FINGAL'S CAVE
when i was creating this thread
for cool under-appreciated songs
but i never found it until quite recently
because i would keep checking
periodically
because i figured someone on earth
MUST have that OMAYAD album
and would eventually put it on youtube
pretty cool hearing a BRAND NEW pf song from the long lost past
eh?
***********
just checked youtube
no crumbling land
