because Blaine County is the only blue county in Idaho
and all the "eco-conscious" tofu eatin' celebrities and rich bastards who live up in Blaine county
ALL drive SUV's or Hummers!

no regular sedans or coups or compact cars
AT ALL!
I actually stood on my porch and counted twenty suvs and hummers and station wagons go by
for every ONE normal car!
That was about the constant ratio
every time I would stand there and do a count!

when I lived there, and even here in the motor city, although around
here you need to know who you are looking for.

I used to live there, ten years ago
means "heart of an awl"

which is, apparently, a french expression for someone who drives a hard bargain
that's what the french fur traders called the indians there
because they always drove a hard bargain when trading things with them
so they always said "them injun bastards have the heart of an awl when yer trading with them"

they also named the Nez Perce indians
which means "pierced nose"

Coeur d'Alene is even more lush and pretty than sun valley

the whole (Big Wood River) {Sun}valley is still on the northern edge of the high desert
right on the cusp of desert and rain forest
that's why the hills are so brown and barren of trees
which make them good for skiing, in the winter

but once you go AT ALL north of sun valey
yer in the yosemite/yellowstone titz disneyland hawaii north-american-serenghetti/type land

in 1997
I asked someone what the name meant
and I thought they said "heart of an OWL"

so I thought the indians really revered owls or something

That's funny - indians revered an owl.

We have a friend who just did a similar misunderstanding thing although
it's funnier when relayed verbaly

She told a friend of hers at work she was having trouble sleeping.

Her friend told her when she had that trouble, she put bay leaves in milk
to help her get to sleep.

Our friend reported to her friend the next day that was the most terrible
thing she ever tasted! Her friend repsonded with "Who said anything
about bay leaves? I said I used Bailey's."

We still chuckle over that.

Well I was only in Coeur d'Alene once in about 1971 or 72 when I was
taking my car from Oak Harbor Naval Air Station in Washington to Motown
to be at my parents house while I was on my first or second trip to
Vietnam. But that's how pretty it was, I still remember it.

It wasn't North LA then, but I can imagine what's happened to it since I
was there.
