With the passing of Moma Geezer I inherited tons of pre 1950 music cd's. She must have had 250 cds or more.
All those songs you were talking about plus my main man Cab Calloway
Folks, here´s a story about Minnie the Moocher
She was a red hot hoochie-koocher
She was the roughest, toughest frail
but Minnie had a heart as big as a whale
Hidee-Hidee-Hidee-hi()
Hodee-hodee-hodee-ho()
Heedey-hee-dee-hee-dee hee ()
Hidee-hidee-hidee-ho()
She messed around with a bloke named Smoky
She loved him though he was cokey
He took her down to Chinatown
Where he showed her how to kick the gong around
It doesn't get any better than that _________________ "You know nothing of hell!"

We were listening to Bing Crosby when he was a young man.
I'll bet he's the voice you hear whenever they copy those old songs that sound like they are singing threw a megaphone. _________________ "You know nothing of hell!"

If I ever heard that song I don't remember it. _________________ "You know nothing of hell!"

it got SOME radio play
but you'd probably had to have had the album
or knew someone who had the album
to have noticed it
like a LOT of good songs
(hence this thread)
that's why i've been looking for this song
on youtube
ever since I got the idea for this
THAT song is the classic perfect example of the "deficiently played" stuff this thread is based on! _________________

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (SAHB)
The Faith Healer
studio version
album: NEXT
1974
Great long lost song by one of the greatest lang lost auld Scottish bands ever!
Alex died a few years after this album came out.
This is another one I've been waiting for, for a year and a half,
but I could only find live versions,
and they just never could get the cool sound effects, at the beginning intro, right, in any live concert, it seems.
FINGERTIPS OF HOLY FIRE
EVERLASTING SWEET DESIRE
CRANK IT! _________________

YOU PRETTY MUCH NEED BROADBAND
TO LISTEN TO THESE YOUTUBE VIDEOS
BUT
FOR THOSE WHO DON'T:
MARY SAYS THAT, WITH THE NEWEST VERSION OF REAL PLAYER, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THESE YOUTUBE SONGS
(AND I HAVE HEARD THAT BEFORE)
don't know if he means the newest free version
or if you have to get the deluxe version that you have to buy
and i don't know how much it would cost
waiting for him to tell me--just emailed him
THEN IT WON'T MATTER IF YOU HAVE BROADBAND
AND YOU CAN LISTEN TO ALL THE STUFF IN THE BEST THREAD IN THE FORUM
THIS THREAD TOTALLY MAKES THIS FORUM!
THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD SONGS THAT SOMEONE UNDER 35 ISN'T EVEN GONNA KNOW ABOUT
BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET PLAYED THAT MUCH
AT LEAST NOT YEARS AFTER THEY CAME OUT
ANOTHER COOL THING ABOUT THAT
IS
THEY SOMETIMES REMOVE THE BEST VIDEOS
FROM YOUTUBE
ABOUT ONE DAY AFTER THEY ARE POSTED
(IN FACT-THAT REMINDS ME: I GOTTA GO BACK AND REFURBISH ALL THE DEAD LINKS IN THIS THREAD!)
AND ANOTHER THING
SOME OF THESE THINGS AREN'T VERY LOUD
BUT I THINK IF YOU DOWNLOADED THEM
YOU COULD ADJUST THE VOLUME AND THE BASS AND TONE ETC
ANYWAY YOU WANTED _________________

CHERRY RED

(They also had an album called "Thank Christ for the Bomb")
ANOTHER LONG LOST UNDER-APPRECIATED BAND
LISTEN TO THAT MADMAN ON THE DRUMS
AND THE MANIAC ON GUITAR! _________________

ALL THAT NIGHT I LOVED HER
MORNING CAME TOO SOON
I KNEW SHE'S BE GONE BY THE AFTERNOON
I SAID PLEASE DON'T GO
STILL SHE SAID GOODBYE
BUT AS SHE TURNED AROUND SHE HAD A CRAFTY LOOK IN HER EYE
AND AS SHE TURNED AROUND SHE HAD A CRAFTY LOOK IN HER EYE
AND I THOUGHT IT SAID
WHEN THE MOON COMES OUT THIS EVENING
YOU'LL TURN 'ROUND IN YER BED
THE WARMTH OF MY BODY WILL HEAT YOU BABY
GONNA MAKE YER BLOOD FLOW
CHERRY RED
ALL THAT DAY I AWAITED HER RETURN
STILL SHE DIDN'T SHOW
THE DAYLIGHT TURNED TO THE DARK OF NIGHT
I SAID PLEASE COME SOON
STILL THERE WAS NO SIGN
AND WITH THE DAWN I SAW THAT LOOK IN HER EYE WAS JUST A LIE
AND WITH THE DAWN I SAW THAT LOOK IN HER EYE WAS JUST A LIE
AND I'D THOUGHT IT SAID... _________________
