I found a few good "flicks" lately that me and my girlfriend indulged in.

That's about it.

letters from iwo jima
it's good
i guess clint eastwood made two films at once
this one is from the japanese perspective
i still have to see the one from the americans' perspective--flags of our fathers

is it just me
or does the main charactor in this film look like a male japanese scarlett johansson? Confused
Laughing
if you see the movie
check it out
they have the same face Laughing
it's weird
they coulda got her
put a helmet on her
and you'da never known the difference
oh
ok
you think i'm crazy...

ok
you gotta see the whole movie Laughing
some angles are better than others
i try and watch any movie she's in--and they get a lot of the same facial expresions
that blond hair kinda kills the effect
but tuck the hair up under a helmet
use dark contact lenses
and add a little teenage boy stubble make-up
and it's CLOSE Confused
maybe round out the nose tip a little bit
--when i first start watching it
i'm going: "what the hell they got scarlett johansson doing THIS movie?"
---most scenes this poor soldier kid is crawling around in dark caves
and you don't see any stubble
i was convinced,-for the first two minutes
that they'd talked scarlett johansson into doing the movie
Laughing
i guess i'd just recently seen that movie where she has short black hair
--can't remember the name of it
but it's the one where she and a bunch of other college kids are breaking
into a school to steal the answers to some big test
and she looks hella japanese

still haven't caught any death wish movies
but, on doggy's recommendation
watched THE BRAVE ONE on ppv
good--good--very cool
sure makes you see how stupid gun control is
especially the first part
kept thinking
oh man--shoulda been packin' Mad
i like the part where she realizes the cops can't do shit
ever
and she wakes up
the scales fall away from her eyes
and she goes into the first gun shop she sees
smart
but too late, eh?
till the next time she needs one
this movie shoulda been called:
a conservative is a liberal who's been mugged

evry single scene where some mugging or thug attack is anout to take place
you just KNOW the punk assholes are thinking:
"shit-this is new york--there's virtually NO CHANCE one of these stupid
law abiding citizens are carrying a gun, so we can do anything we want!"
I think they should have to WONDER
they should KNOW there's at least a 10 or 12 percent chance someone
MIGHT be able stand up to their shit

"in the head
in the chest
22s
are the best
for jody foster's army"
Laughing Cool

*********

jody's later movies always piss me off
because i think her nose job was a stupid mistake that made her go from unique and cute
to just kinda normal looking Confused

I just watched Devil's Advocate too. I rented it last week, forgot how good it was. I watched The Amateurs with Jeff Bridges the other night. Funny movie. A real feel good movie too. I recommend it. The premise is about some people who decide to make a porno movie but that isn't what the movie is really about. Its a good one. I usually like Bridges. He's always good.

Havn't seen Brave One yet, but it'll be my next choice.

michael clayton
2007

this may win an oscar
or george clooney might win an oscar for this one

you gotta watch this
but give it 15 minutes
as you do
before you judge

you think
at first it's just an intense super realistic lawyer movie
but this guy is a fixer
like the wolf
in pulp fiction
and the movie get's downright surrealistic

i was just saying that about the oscars because it's such a surprising movie
i didn't know what was nominated for what
i guess george clooney is up for best actor
for it
too

i never even HEARD of this movie till i saw it on ppv
and then heard someone talking about it on television and sayiing it was really good
this one could be some kinda sleeper upset
at the oscars
flying in under the radar

i'm gonna watch it again
just because it's so packed with weird shit
you miss one word
and you miss some whole thread

if you ever get a chance
watch this movie

**********

i think i'm gonna watch dragon wars again too
just because the visual effects are so freaky

then they continue it
seems some family member of his is always accidentally and co-incidentally in the crime scene
and he discovers it
much to his chagrine
every time Rolling Eyes Laughing

but this is the one where his name is roy
so it's cool Cool

I saw it. I love dragony phantasy-assed movies. Always have. this one had spectacular effects. The dragons were phenomenal. The acting and directing, however, were atrocious. Felt like I was watching a 70s japanese flick.

I watched 3 excellent movies this weekend.
First was Gone Baby Gone. A child abduction movie. Disturbing yet really compelling. Excellent movie. Very very moving.

I also watched American Gangster. Out of the 3 movies I watched, I liked this one the least ALTHOUGH it was still an excellent film. Great story, (the fact that its based on a true story helps) and both Denzel and Russel are, as usual, simply great.

The BEST of the 3, by far, was The Brave One. Watched it last night and that movie grips you from the beginning to the end. Great recommendation Dog and Roy! Movie had me in tears and yelling "FUCK YEAH!" at the TV screen. Jodie is always great and the black fella who played the cop (I liked him in Crash too) is very good as well.
